10mm VSF?

(1/4) > >>

Ruarigh:
I was reading the Soldier's Companion the other day and started wondering about getting back into VSF. I don't have any VSF figures at the moment but I do have a 10mm Danish army for the 1864 Slesvig-Holsten affair. Therefore I started thinking about VSF in 10mm since I could easily start the Danish colonisation of Whoknowswhere or something like that, which would save me starting completely from scratch. I know of a large number of 15mm and 28mm ranges but was wondering if there were anything appropriate in 10mm or that would work with 10mm. Can anyone help?

Cheers,
Ruarigh

Argonor:
Where do you live, Ruarigh? (Your nick sounds Celtic (Rory?), but that might not mean anything..)

I'd love to see Denmark invade Mars

Black Hat has some 18 mm Martian Cephaloids that could easily be used for other scales (I'm going to get some to use for 28mm Fantastic Worlds):

Argonor:
Found some 10 mm ACW:

Edit: And a Manufacturer called Heritage Crest Miniatures should do 10 mm zulu war - but their website seems to have vanished.....

Another Edit:
Old Glory: http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/products.asp?cat=111

Last Edit:

This last one should do the trick - my web-fu works today  ;)

Ruarigh:
Hi,

I live near Hull in England at the moment. You are right about the origin of my name, which is, in fact, my first name, or rather a hypocoristic form thereof. I normally go by wukong on forums but it just seems easier to sign up with my first name these days. I think I must be getting old!

Thanks for the links. My Danes are Pendraken figures so I knew about that but the other links are useful and I reckon the cephalopods could come in handy. What about the sf element of vsf? Any suitable martians, clanks, tanks, walkers or similar that would work with 10mm?

Cheers,
Ruarigh

Argonor:
Yes, the sf-stuff... did not come about much of that - I guess some of the Black Hat 18 mm vehicles could be turned into something useful..?

At 10 mm some scratch-building should not be too hard, either?

I was thinking: Clockwork soldiers, perhaps take some 'normal' troops in static poses and paint them brass/bronze..?

Clanks... difficult one if you're not into scratch-building, I think... also depends on the size you want - the bigger, the easier to use other scales (Warmachine light Warjacks, for instance).

Martians... you might be able to use some Amerindians (just saw this wonderful word on another thread  :) ) as stand-ins?

What relative scale is (X/YY) or railway scale is 10 mm btw? I think there might be some railroad stuff available for conversions...

And paper models. Airships! http://www.schreiber-bogen.com/
