Shinobi from Kensei Game
« on: March 08, 2015, 01:59:31 PM »
Hi,

this is my first entry. As you can see, my miniature is not very suited for gaming - unless you have a very large gaming table :).
The figure ist from the Kensei Game from Zenit Miniatures. It's scale is more 25mm or even smaller than 28...

Kensei minis seem to be a little bit taller than the Perry ones, but are tabbed rather than with integrals. They also have a more true scale form rather than heroic scale, though they still fit in with the old L5R ones as well as Perry's and a few others with the various Ronin stuff my group has for our buntais.

Of course, the ones I have are all female (Female hero and the onna bushi).

Thank you guys for your comments!

@Bugsda: Colour scheme for Ninja is always hard - black with black and brown...so I was happy that this figure in itself is more dramatic and the face mask just needed red :)

@skip: just as SotF wrote - they are a bit taller; although I just have the Town People Set for comparison

Hi,

it's me again. I thought, I show you the second single mini from Kensei I have painted. And instead of opening another thread I will append this one.

The Figure is the Buke Daimyo from Zenit miniatures:

Although he is not historicaly correct, he catches the atmosphere of jidaigeki movie very well!
Putting both halves of the horse together was real pain; the base is flocked with "forest in a pot" from "reality in scale" finished with some brown wash. The reins are made from two coloured twine.

Cheers
Andreas

Thanks von Lucky !

@Skip: I have that Ogre on my desk - so here is a short comparison:
from left (obviously) the Ogre from Kensei, Monk from Perry, Taisho Otokodate from Kensei and Shuichi from Bushido Game

Thank you Funkybrush!  :)

You're welcome skip. Yeah, a great, dynamic pose - very threatening. Unfortunately I find red colour very hard to paint...so he will have to wait :)
