Nice range of figures. I Googled Alien Commander 2.0; wow, they're good! I'm assuming you just email the guy as I couldn't see a shop anywhere? My phone browser is restringing access to deviantart though.

Ogryn.

I know you're an RT and 2nd Ed fan like me Baron, and the orks used to be all hunched over and shorter than Marines, so the Troll is just too big and straight to be one. As an Ogryn, the conversion will be more straightforward and have a better final look IMHO.

Yep Ogryn it is. He is pretty much perfect already with some minor conversion. Don't think I posted these clear pics before of some of the completed conversions

Daemonhost,  radical inquisitor, beastman

And Arbites Death Cultist, Inquisitrix, gunslinger and mutant medicae

And a cross post from the clave, wip painting on the beast man.  Metal needs to be re highlighted after some extensive weathering, then some highlights on the skin I think. Skulls and trinkets not painted at all yet. Doll needs hair done

Shot from the back showing his harpoon gun. Going to add lots of checks and color here as it is a bit dull at the moment. Arm is screaming for a tattoo too.

Cheers

Gritty sounds like an understatement! This mini is outright terrifying ... but awesome, I agree.

Wonderful!

I played a game of 54mm 40k at the Tactica and it was a joy.  The scale is really well suited to the genre.

Greetings,

(cross post from the clave) I have been painting some more, but nothing too interesting to show yet. Felt the need to do some more converting (helped by a massive box arriving from Reaper), so started on this guy.

He is an ex-Elysian Drop Trooper, and now pulls security for Inquisitor Tannen (the giant chap in the power armour). A no-nonsense military type, I wanted to keep the professional look that the Elysian's have and not go too grim-dark. Tannen himself will be a Puritan, and I imagine most of his warband will fit a similar mould.

The conversion is based on the Reaper Master Series US soldier, which despite an unflattering online paintjob (really just the eyes actually), is actually a really nicely sculpted model. His harness is very well detailed with lots of straps, packs, combat knives and the like.
Despite this, he needed some 40kification, so I have done some minor greenstuff work.

Here he is with the padded armour plates sculpted. Note I have gone with big bulky carapace shoulder plates to increase his prescence. These are just blutacked in place here so sit a little high.

And with his lasgun. It looks a bit big for him, but I will add a scope and call it a Long-Las

He will be holding it from a tactical foregrip, so I imagine he can switch between a sniper and assaulter at a moment's notice. More soon.

Cheers,
The Baron

Greetings,
Next model completed! Jade Tarth, ex-Adeptus Arbites officer, sent to the Pit-Fights for her part in a secret society who dispensed off-the-books vigilante justice to the Imperial nobility.  Conversion using a Barbaretta model, with a warmachine cog head and arm from a Reaper master series model

Obligatory mood shot!

Hope you like her!

Cheers
