Siege of fort zeelandia/ 1660's dutch uniforms?

I'm thinking of painting up a few Dutch musketeers after reading about Koxingas siege of Dutch Taiwan  ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Fort_Zeelandia )

The only problem is that I have no idea of what style of uniform they would be wearing or its colour as they where VoC soldiers. I was thinking of using either ecw or northstars 1672 range unless they are completely wrong.


Any help would be appreciated

I would imagine that they would be mainly dressed as civilians or only have a coat cut from the same cloth for the infantry.

If troops were sent specifically then it would be worth looking more into the Dutch East India company to see where their troops came from and use that.

Sailors would be dressed as your normal pirate/sailor types from the period, breeches and shirts with assorted head gear.

Awesome ,we gamed the fight for the smaller fort a year ago . There is also a bad Chinese movie about the siege. Read this book. It is one of the best books I ever read. They had lots of germans in their ranks,not to mention Taiwanese headhunters,who attacked everybody. the uniforms would be a hodgepodge. No pikeman,and so many variables,you have to read the book ,available on Amazon/

I actually read it last week, It was pretty good but I preferred Pirate king by Jonathan Clements But they complement each other quite well.
I'm going to check out the artwork on the front cover though for costume ideas.

From my own experience with forts that get very large (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=37746.0) , you will need a very large table for this fort.  But what fun it would be to make it and use it in a game.  How would the players reach the middle?
