Can anyone help identifying this miniature?
« on: March 16, 2015, 10:43:12 PM »
Hello,

Can anyone help identifying this miniature? It's a (smallish) 25mm fantasy type. I think I bought this (and several others) from the 'Fantastic Shop'/FanPro catalog, somewhere in the mid-eighties. So I thinks it's by a German firm. I don't think it is part of the 'Das Schwarze Auge' (DSA) range. Searching the web makes me no wiser. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Any help would be appreciated,

Alex

Old Rose Miniatures ZF34. Catalogue on my blog further down the page. I think they only came out in Germany as the UK only saw a few of the range advertised in Military Modelling etc back in the day.

Thanks a lot, that's the one!!! I checked the base as well, and can now confirm that this one, and a second one are both by Rose Miniatures. Doing some searching, I also found two from this range on German ebay, in original packaging, which confirms that they were sold by the Fantastic Shop. But there's not much more I can find.

I know little of the range - Rose Miniatures did a small range of fantasy women (as below) that became part of the German catalog but don't appear to have released the rest on the UK market. I posted the catalog for 'posterity' sake. Between that and Facebook I am losing too much time  :D

The Rose 'Elite Series' I have posted here; http://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=Elite_Series

Given the manufacturer (Rose Miniatures did a lot of 54mm figures), it could be that some collectors of those types of figures know a bit more. I'll have another look around.

I already found the page on the 'Lost Minis', a stunning resource you have there!!!

It's a labor of love......for me back in the day, Rose was 54mm. I have a few examples - a lot can be picked up from John Eden Studios although not the 25mm. Tradition did a line of 54mm fantasy that has recently been re-released however I have heard the castings leave a lot to be desired....
