Thank you,the answer is its a vehicle thats being added to the 1st Corps range(I sculpt the range so its also a scratch build to me )
But I've dropped this model(four times!)All the lamp's have taken a hit,and come away from the vehicle.The rear wheel behind the standing figure is card.As I lost a wheel when I dropped it.(actually all four wheels came off,one is still in 30metres of lawn)I try and build for the rough and tumble of gaming.But dropping it from 8ft onto concrete doesn't help.
So this one is more scratch built than not.On the whole its pritty much a production,casting Only the model comes with two gunners and a Driver.The ammo belts are made almost twice as long as required((the ones in the pictures are cut down)),the water cans and tubing are built in.the gun comes with the hand grips attatched.the dog legged mount is one length and needs trimming down to fit the rear mount.(the whole gun will be available as a seperate set,for scratch building projects.)
I thought a warts and all approach,was best so there it is.(also theres a good chance I'll drop the thing again)

Thanks, Mark - I've been looking for one of these for a few years, so I'll keep an eye for First Corps to release it!

As for long ammo belts,



it looks like long ammo belts shouldn't be a problem!

No thank you,Just seen your pic' and oh  bugger,I've lost the steps off the side as well .(Could not for the life of me,think why the gap between the rear wheel and the cab,was bugging me.Now I know.)
This is an odd vehicle to sculpt.There are so many pit falls,for such a simple vehicle.it plays havoc with perspective,one angle makes the figures look small,and another look oversized.(its the same when you look at real photo's of the autocar,some of its down to simpley it doesn't fit with your mental image of an armoured car.and some to the miss understanding of just how unruley the scale of ww1 vehicles are.)

Have you seen a book called "The Armoured Autocar in Canadian Service" by Cameron Pulsifer?   It's only about 20 pages but is a great resource for model making.  The author had access to the last remaining Autocar at the Canadian War Museum, and has included a set of scale drawings in the centre spread, showing plan and profile for the vehicle.  I found it was well worth it when I did my own model (far inferior to yours, so am looking forward to getting a proper Autocar!

But I should have mentioned that the Autocar,is a project from the free(ish)vehicle offer.The only reason its not posted on the offer is the fact its a bit battered.So I've not come across the book,mainly because the research has been done in exchange for castings.
The vehicle has been designed to allow conversion's without adding parts(As are all the vehicles in the range.)
In this case the whole side plate is made to be scored lightly from the reverse side so the plates can be repositioned,the rear cab,and tail gate are also abled to be repositioned.The driver and the front plank of the seat are one.
The steering wheel is built in,this allows you to put other figures in the vehicle without chopping it up.The crew have neck lines which allow for head swaps.
So changing them is really fast and simple.

Great stuff- it's things like some of the weird looking vehicles that are part of the attraction of The Great War.

Thanks for the info, Mark.  Head swaps are a great idea - will allow the vehicle to be fielded early war (with peaked hats) or later war (with helmets).  Another great option would be to provide both the original Colt MGs as well as the Vickers that replaced them!
