A small group of us in Inverness have embarked on a project to build up armies of the Waterloo 1815 Campaign. I pitched in to start the Allied troops and as I'm a slow painter I picked the Brunswick Corps to start with from the Allied OOB while my main purchase from Perry Miniatures, Dutch 2nd & 3rd Divisions, are off on manoeuvres with a professional painter.
I took things slowly to test out what technique and style would best suit this shift to Napoleonics and subtle differences can be seen from the start of the trial run. The Uhlans were first and the ‘white varnish’ scare shows a bit even though the recovery worked wonders. Next came the first gun of the foot battery followed by the Leib Battalion both showing how the varnish situation has been mastered.
I'll gradually get the Corps finished and hopefully by the time the Dutch arrive which will see the first test skirmishes with our chosen set of rules – Shako II – at the end of the summer. However other pressing matters may see The Dalai diverting back to Back of Beyond for a spell.

The photos were taken with my Samsung Note 3 and are not too bad, but I'll use my Canon Digital SLR next time.
