The KS has been updated to now allow you to make a $2 pledge and gain access to all items in the project as an "Addon".

Just over $200 to go to meet the base funding level!

Hey All

The SNLF/IJA Kickstarter has now reached over $8000. We are well on the way to achieving the stretch goals of the project. All pledge amounts are in Australian Dollars and at around $1.85 AUD per figure for the platoon pledge + free figures, it is great value.

I have already started the process of commissioning the achieved heavy weapons so you can be assured I am at work straight away to get the project into physical reality.

Any questions or comments, please let me know.

regards
Mathew

Japanese SNLF/IJA Kickstarter is over the $9000 mark now.

All $$ values are Australian Dollars, so great value for money at around $1.85 Australian per figure for a platoon pledge with stretch goals.

If we can reach $10,000 I will be looking to add 2 further stretch goals: 4 x Figures with Type 100 SMG and a Type 91 105mm artillery piece with both spoked and pneumatic tyres. This will take us around $15,000. Please spread the word so we can keep the momentum.

For those who may be curious about the SNLF here is a link which has some general information:

http://www.dutcheastindies.webs.com/SNLF.html

In brief (using the above link as reference), the Japanese Special Naval Landing Force (SNLF) were Imperial Japanese Naval Infantry (or Marines). They were generally named after their home base, were well trained (including amphibious landing operations), disciplined and motivated.

There were 12 Special Naval Landing Force units in existence in December 1941. Whether on the offensive in the early stages or the defensive the SNLF in the Pacific participated in campaigns from the Philippines to Kokoda, Borneo, Guadalcanal, Milne Bay (PNG) and Tarawa (to name some known ones).

They were equipped and armed similar to the Imperial Japanese Army, but some identifiable features included wide use of Canvas helmet covers and netting, Anchor patches on the helmet and upper right sleeve, 3/4 sleeves in tropical version of their uniform and a distinctive gas mask and canister. There uniform was also more of a olive/drab green than the Khaki of the IJA (rough colour guide).

Hello All

the WarTime Miniatures Kickstarter has now been updated to allow pledging of WarTimes current range of 28mm WWII Australians as part of the project. This includes the next batch of masters which will be finished soon. They are being offered at a great price that will not been seen again for some time. The funds raised will be put towards the SNLF/IJA goals.

Hello All

We are into the last 7 days of WarTime Miniatures War in the Pacific KickStarter. The project continues to grow as we move into the home stretch.

Over the next few days I will be showing WIP pictures of some of the weapons being made and also the latest batch of masters from my other project - 28mm WWII Australians. I am eagerly waiting for these and remember you can add Australians to your pledges so when fulfilled you have the option of one or even both sides for your gaming table.

I have some WIP pictures of the Type 97 Medium Mortar and Type 92 MMG. They can be seen here:

https://www.facebook.com/WarTimeMiniatures

These are WIP pictures, not the finished product, but you will be able to see the clean lines and great quality you will be able to expect from the various weapons that will be commissioned as part of this project.

There is still time to pledge and support this great range as well as an Australian Miniature Manufacturer.

regards
Mathew
