Hannibal's African Veterans
« on: March 29, 2015, 03:11:11 PM »
Hi All,
I've just had a box of our 'Hanibal's African Veterans' put together and painted by the talented Gary Peach over at March Attack. Thought you might like to see how they look assembled, painted and based ready for the table. Gary's painted them in a mix of Gallic plaid to represent the clothing that was given to Hannibal's troops by the Celtic tribes he came in to contact with, as well as a mix of Roman Civilian and Military / Hellenistic tunics. the I've also mixed in a few of our metal legionary figures with head-swaps to add more variety. Hope you like them  :)
Cheers
Greg

They all mix pretty well

Those are beautiful - both the figures and the paint jobs!

Very well done; especially like your shields and their Punic symbols.

Fantastic.  Love the stylized "Mother Goddess" on the shields (an accurate Carthagenian design).

Beautiful minis indeed. :-*
The variation of colours and shield designs is particularly striking, and the wood grain effect adds a nice highlight.

Great looking unit. Do the veterans come with just the Roman style shields or is there a choice on the sprue?

Got to admit, I'm also guilty of this 'technique' but it looks better at a distance, and at 'wargamer's distance' I like it.
