Finnish WW2 photo archive

I don't know how long this has been available but it's possibly a useful resource as it has over 160,000 photos and videos not all of which have snow in them.  ;)

Lots of great photos there, but it's hard to find them - especially if you don't know Finnish!
On the Axis History forum there is a number of topics with interesting photos or photos' numbers by content: http://forum.axishistory.com/viewforum.php?f=59 However not all of them are labelled correctly, and they have missed some really good ones. My advice - note the number of a photo and check others from that day.

I downloaded a number of photos (mostly of Finnish armour), maybe I should zip them and upload somewhere...

My favourite find so far. ;)

It's been up a few years now since all the old photos were made public. Navigation can be a bit tricky if you don't know Finnish though.

Here's a few keywords to get started. I'll try to update when I'm not at work :P

panssari = tank
rynnäkkötykki = STUG's etc.
motti = encirclement tactic used by finnish army
panssarinyrkki = panzerfaust
hävittäjä = fighter
pommikone = bomber
lentokone = airplane
saksalainen = german

Some interesting battles and location etc. that you can try to search for
Raate
Tali
Ihantala
Petsamo (reindeer sleds! :) )

Battlefields! Of course!
Inspired by your suggestion I searched for Tornio and found wrecks of French tanks used by the Germans during the Lapland War (pages 15-16).
