Looking for Supersytem 4th character builder
« on: March 18, 2015, 02:20:59 PM »
I know some time ago there used to be an online site with Marvel & DC SS stats. Also there was a calculator for making your own heroes. Is there an online one for 4th ed or an excel doc? I am looking for stats for Alpha Flight and X-men.

thanks

I had a really nice fellow working on one during the Kickstarter, but we ended up cancelling it as folks well know by now, so that went away.

Joe D. is toying with a web-based version, so I will keep folks apprised of that as it goes. It's all a slow burn at this point. Joe and I have busy lives outside of gaming, and when we do commit time to stuff within the hobby, it's usually working on some new project. Still, it remains an item on our radar. Meanwhile, anyone who wants to make one can consult with me about it and we can figure something out.

Thanks!

that was me. I could continue to work on it, but I would need some testers to point out if my calculations are correct, point out bugs etc...

Does anyone have experience with Battlescribe or Army Builder files? I am thinking Army Builder would be a fantastic platform to get Supersystem 4 on to. People would see it as an option to download and may draw some additional interest to the game.

I tried making a Battlescribe army file once and it was far more complicated than I'd have liked. I'm not sure it would work as a character builder, but perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I could say better.

I really liked the Excel-based character builder that used to be available for 3rd edition. I made a ton of characters using that.

I'd be fine with an excel file. I wouldn't complain about an army builder file, I just figure more people have access to excel.

My input, if you already have work put into an online program then go with that. The only advantage of excel is there is no need for maintaining a website to keep it running.

I like Excel too.  No need for an internet connection.

Was it similar to the Song of Blade & Heroes builders?  Those are pretty good too.
