A tale of ships
« on: February 22, 2015, 10:41:02 PM »
I've begun building a pair of ships for use with 28mm miniatures in mind, in two days I've made some progress sice I'm built ships for the first time in my life!

The design has more in min playability and storage than any historical reference, however some XVI-XVII inspiration is prsent.

Speedy progress.

While I understand the simplicity in design, I think the hulls look a bit too far out of the Water (standing too tall from the waterline, so to speak).

I think they would benefit aestheticly from having the bottom 'strip' removed?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

The superstructure is raised to provide space for the cannon decks.

Have you seen the Gary Chalk - Wargames Foundry article on making pirate ships?

The sail ships have been finished, one royal navy-looking and the other designed for frontal attacks such as river-fighting.
