Weapon for Cyclops
« on: April 06, 2015, 08:06:22 AM »
For those who know the Safari cyclops sold at Michael's, AC Moore and Joannes. Here is a pic…

I want to remove the hammer and replace it with a large dino leg or a big tree trunk. Just need a source for one. Thoughts?
And before anyone says sculpt one, let me assure you that isnt an option. LOL

Large twig that's been dried in the oven. Has worked for me on a large creature.

He's a big b***er ain't he!

First source I can think of (for a leg bone) would be a chicken leg or wing.

Take 1 chicken, water, stock, veg, seasoning to taste and 1 nice crusty bread loaf
Make broth and remove bones
Boil bones again to strip all flesh
Wash well
Dry off while eating soup
Soak bones in bleach for at least 30 mins
Dry off bone and let dry in the sun or on top of a radiator
Stain / varnish bone if you wish

If you are a vegetarian or vegan the only other option would be to get some toy dino bones kits http://www.ebay.com/bhp/dinosaur-skeleton and see if any of these fit... I have some 15mm 'sized' ones but nothing the size you need...

What about one of those kiddy kits where you dig out a dinosaur skeleton from a brick?

I like the hammer myself but I would go with the dried tree branch suggestion
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

LOL i think this every time someone asks how to mimic a tree. Cant believe that i didn't even think of it for myself. :-)

Yeah, he had a growth spurt last summer. :-)

Good for me i have a rotisserie chicken in the fridge just waiting to be eaten.
BTW, soak the bones in vinegar and you can bend em for desired shapes. Once dried they become hard again.

I loves meat so no prob there. I thought i had some dino skeleton kits i got from Target a few years back. Prob is i cant locate em and I dont think that the bones would be long enough. As stated above, he is a big'un.

I dont know that one i think. I know of kiddy bones stuff but nothing from a brick.

Yep it will do for sure. Prob is that everyone's cyclops has the same hammer. My guy wants to lead. Hew ants to eat sheep and not be one.

Go to a thrift shop or goodwill and look in the toy bins for weapons etc. You will find a bunch of options in his "scale"

I am sure you could find someone who has a spare branch weapon from the GW giant?  Or at least there might some bits sellers selling it.

Otherwise, maybe get a model railroad plastic tree and use the trunk?

Here's a bits seller. £1 for a club.

Actually 50p for a headstone axe. Chop off the headstone and it would be great.
