Frostgrave pictures
« on: April 09, 2015, 10:58:48 PM »
It begins.

I'm starting to show the miniatures that we've been designing for Osprey's new Fantasy Wargame Frostgrave on Facebook. Frostgrave is out in July, and we've 20 different Wizards made already. We're going to show one a day on Facebook, starting with the Enchanter by Mark Copplestone.

The Frostgrave wizards are 28mm sized, unpainted metal miniatures.

When I saw this guy I thought "Vainamoenin" and "Kalevala".   Well done.   :o

Well now, there's just no way to buy that and not paint it as Santa.

Yay! Even better than I expected. I hope Copplestone will do more for North Star

Mark has done 5 more figures so far. The others who are involved are Mike Owen, Mark Sims, Nick Collier and Bob Naismith. Richard Kemp and Giorgio Bassani have commissions in their hands for some of the next set of figures for Frostgrave as well as the first five. It's a real collective effort.

Mike Owen's Summoner figure, painted by Kev Dallimore.

The Wizards come from all over the World to loot Frostgrave, but they recruit followers locally. That is why we're releasing a box of plastic Frostgrave soldiers, all the Wizards will use the same henchmen. The box set allows you to arm your followers as you want, as there are hundreds of different head/ arm/ weapon combinations. I need to work it out mathematically. There's also extra packs/ rope/ lanterns etc to kit your henchmen out with.

The minis are GORGEOUS...BEAUTIFULLY sculpted & painted. The multipart Barbarians sound like something I would be interested in for conversions if nothing else. GOOD LUCK with the project!

I'm with Dr. Mathias on this one - I really like the sound of this game, and the two wizard miniatures so far are excellent. Looking forward to seeing more.

Had a read of the description.
Fast, campaign or casual, low model count, d20 based.
Seems like it could be a great system! I've been wanting a nice fantasy system to get into but nothing fits the bill, this could be the one!

Whilst those wizards are exceptionally lovely, it's the henchmen spruces I'm most excited about seeing! Are we likely to be able to get a sneaky peek at Salute?
