15mm Super Battle Report
« on: April 10, 2015, 02:51:20 AM »
[Static crackle]
“All units, all units, robbery in progress at the First National Bank.    Supervillain crisis team please to respond to the corner of 5th  and Daly.”

Grainy camera footage:

After an early release from police custody,  Beacon joined forces with SILOUETTE, and METAMORPH.  Their plan was to rob the First National Bank.  Unknowingly  they have tripped the silent alarm and have been cornered in Metro City’s industrial park.

The board:

Metro City database lists these criminals as highly dangerous
METAMORPH –Ability to stretch and take any shape
BEACON-Laser eye bolts
SILOUETTE-Strength and invulnerability during the night

All the miniatures were painted by Calimero, and I’m using “It’s Clobberin’ Time” skirmish rules.

The police:

Turn 1 the police rush the villains:

Silouette uses her leap ability, while more cops surround them.

Silouette's invulnerability makes her hard to hit.

Metamorpho stretch ability allows him a longer range

The psionic cop takes control of Beacon's will!

In the end, however it's not enough!  The villains prevail, with very little damage.  As this was a solo game, some of the rules had to be adjusted accordingly.

I see the beaver off a Canadian nickel. Are you in Canada or just using our currency you picked up as a counter?
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.

Pretty cool stuff!

I’m happy to see the figures I’ve painted for you in action… I haven’t play a single wargame myself in years, mainly because of the lack of opponent nearby. I should give "solo wargame" a more serious thought...  :o
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

I'm just pleased to see someone other than me playing the rules - thank you :)

What stats did you use for the figures? I'm assuming that the three villains were all Level 3, but how about the Police and the Psychic Cop?

Also, what initiative system did you use for solo play?

Thanks.

Hey Alan,

The cops were all level 2 with range of 6.
I gave the psychic cop and additional mind control feature.

I cheated with initiative, I simply rolled for it and activated 2 characters each on either side.  I think I will try the cards next time, with a card for each character shuffled in a stack.

For my solo play I use a character die d6.  Each die side represents a type of fighter, stays in cover, charges forward, panic and freezes.  I roll at the beginning for each of the adversaries, and play the character according to their style.  It sort of works.  For the psychic cop it was difficult because she needed line of sight to dominate Beacon.

It was a fun game, although I have to still figure out the dice stuff.  The cops are sort of based on Dredd.  The rules are super easy really perfect for a quick game.  I'm looking to possibly use something similar for a star trek idea I had.

Mike

A really easy rule set to learn, with lots of different powers for your characters.
