Hi guys

Done some more work on my teddy bear terrain tiles, it will be a general purpose board for all eras and genres, designed to fit 15mm-28mm, have shaved the dirt roads out with clippers, reduced the tyre ruts down with a long necked bbq lighter, I'll glue sand into the tyre ruts and paint brown, the long brown/white stripe on the right will be a river, I plan on filling it with clear resin after detailing the river bed, and will be shaping the grass in differant areas, and colouring it various greens/yellows/browns, I need to make more tiles with a single end to end road, have done enough t/y/x intersection, and will do more farming and plain fields, as well as some scatter hills and other terrain, plan on train tracks, houses to suit Russian, Normandy and some fantasy/Medieval buildings and a bridge accross the river as well as some shallow river crossings.

Fantastic idea! Some of the best terrain boards I've ever seen are teddy bear fur, shaved and painted. I'm looking forward to seeing them finished.

Nice idea. What size are the tiles? They look quite small

Hi guys

Have done some more work on my terrain tiles, (have laid it out without really trying to make a coherent map, just for these pics) painted the road dark brown, and gave them a very light dry brush, this makes them look muddy, not sure if I want this terrain to be lush and muddy, or dry and dusty if I choose dry and dusty I will need to add more yellow to the grass and heavily dry brush the roads, as this is a generic terrain for all genres (but I am working on my WWII Russian projects currently) should I keep it lush or go dry? I've also got a piece of sandy coloured fur coming, enough for another 6 tiles, which will need a heavy green painting to mix in with this terrain, with those 6 tiles I'll do 3 with single end to end roads, and 3 plain fields/crop fields.

My next job is to seal the river sections with masking tape, then cover with grit and paint, I will be filling these with clear resin, so the masking tape will stop the resin leaking out between the cork and foam.

Hi guys

I have seen a lot of FB posts with painters showing their completed miniatures of 2022, so I start wondering how many miniatures I painted in 2022, here is 1 picture from each batch of figures completed in 2022 that I could find, most are commissions, the unpainted batch of vehicles isn’t painted, but was built in 22, and will be painted over my 3 weeks holidays, there are 41 pics all up on my blog, a mix of scale, genres and eras.

Hi guys

Some may have noticed I do the occasional large army conversion project for myself, for the fist time I have been commissioned to convert/detail an army without painting it, the customer likes the painting part themselves, the first 3 pictures below are of my own army that the customer has asked me to emulate in style, the other pictures are of my work so far head swaps, some pose changes, adding in the support wire for the plumes, the project is 350ish figures, this first part is 119 figs covering the light infantry a jagers, the remainder will be line infantry, kind of bummed I won’t be painting them, but such is life.

Cheers, can anyone tell me why this site posts my pics upside down? No other forum does it, and I don’t know how to fix it.

Do you maybe live in Australia? :)
(I just embed the pics from my blog, or, in case it is not from there, I upload it to imgbb and insert from there. No pic turning problems yet.)

Hi guys

Finished a couple of Austrians on commission, I think there’s around 700, now to wrap them all. Figs are 18mm ABs, really love the Hungarian grenadiers, sad to hand them over.

Looks good! Yet, you have a 3D printer, so why didn't you just print out some heads and bits using something like the Piano Wargames files....just rescaled for what you want? Your old school like me in approaching things but I am working hard to adjust my thinking to what I can make via my printer rather than scratchbuilding, as time is limited. Plus, the 3D models do turn out better. :)
