The Shoggoth is, IMHO, the best "raging" type of the creature out there. The Flying Polyp? Looks pretty non-flying to me and almost has a Chibi style, the RAFM version I like far better. Your painting is good though!

It is true the flying polyps are a bit comical. I had not really thought of them as chibi, which is a style that I have not really payed attention to. I like them because they fit in with some of my other fantasy stuff. In my world they are "Zempta beasts", who go up to people and say "zempted you!" and that causes the victim to miss a turn. This is inspired loosely by the rules for them in the Cthulhu wars game.
