Velvet's Girls und Panzer 15mm Flames of War project
« on: April 18, 2015, 08:00:48 PM »
Hi all, just thought I’d share the latest mini project I’m undertaking. I’m currently making a 15mm "tankery" team from the anime Girls und Panzer.

My son and I have enjoyed the series plus we ve been playing a lot of World of Tanks on the Xbox, I’d like to make a small skirmish table top game using FOW rules. I’ve picked up some 1/100 scale WW2 kits from various manufacturers, but when looking for some crew there wasn’t any apart form a few threads and an unfunded Eureka 300 club attempt.

So I decided to knock my own up. Never sculpted anything at 15mm so thought it’d be cool to have a go.

Started off with a basic body dolly which I made a quick spilt mould to duplicate it.

Bit of green stuff and brass wire

Testing them out in the Plastic soldier company Pzkpfw 4.

And a quick mould and pressure cast. These are 90% painted, just need to touch em up here and there

In the background there’s a BF M3 lee which I’ve drilled out the core so I can have the doors open. A PSC MK 4 and Stug, and an Irregular Minis type 89. Ive got a PSC Pz38t which needs building.

In the show there are various schools which they fight against. The schools are themed, British, German, Soviet and American. I might make the other teams in the future but for now I'll be using my WIP allied and German tanks. These dudes have been great airbrush practice for me. Quick shot of the allies so far (and the awesome Khurasan Miniatures Lara Croft!)

For the Germans I’ve only got close up of a King tiger turret with a 505 decal :) (Sorry not got any more pics yet!)

Next stage is to finish building the tanks, and get some paint on them!

Cheers
Mark

Haha, the 70's was a creative decade :D Mr Starmer is a great reference point to correct it.

I doubt those Cromwells are legit too. Just you wait until my digital camo Centurions come out!

Personally I love the blue in the caunter, and it was great masking exp for me:)

Just realised I need some Sashimonos for the Stug. Any recommendations please let me know!

Hi Mark, we had a similar thread a while ago, so you might want to plunder it for information that might be of help to you. The OP is still around here somewhere too.

I'm inclined to think that a manufacturer who makes 28mm Samurai probably has sashimono banners too... which should be about the right size for 15mm tanks.

http://www.dixon-minis.com/shop/samurai-25mm/SB2/ ... they do a smaller sort too. I'm sure there are others out there too somewhere though.
