Looking for a half-plate hero.
« on: April 20, 2015, 07:40:59 PM »
Hey guys.

One of my projects involves converting up a character wearing half plate. Ideally the model wouldn't have any weapons or scabbards attached to the main body and I plan to do head and hand swaps also. Does anyone know of any companies that do that kind of miniature? 28mm-30mm preferred.

Cheers!

There is a half-plate body in the Perry War of the Roses Infantry set.  It meets your other criteria and might serve what you are looking for, although the Perry miniatures are a realistic scale, not the 'heroic' scale that a lot of fantasy miniatures seem to be.  A perusal of Capt Blood's thread on the Medieval board would give you a quick idea of what can be done with these.

The old metal Reiksguard foot Knights were in half plate weren't they?

I checked and some of them did. From the left the 1st and 3rd guy are from the Reikguard foot knights.

I always loved copplestones knights  the standard here might be nice with a bit of work (would help to know what you are going to do)

If you really don't find anything suitable, I could get you one of the mastercastings for this body dolly:

You would have to supply your own head and arms of course.
