They are gorgeous. Still wondering how they will scale up against my Footsore (nee Musketeer) early Saxons and Arthurians...

I've just shot a very quick, very rough photo of some Footsore and a couple of Saxon lads for you to look at, to get an idea of how they scale together.

Footsore, Saxon, Footsore, Saxon, Footsore:

From that, you can see that they scale very nicely next to most of the figures, and are just a smidge smaller than the bigger personalities.  However, not all the Saxon miniatures are the same size, either.  Some are bigger folks than others.  For my money they fit just fine.

They all look similar from where i'm sitting and unless there is a huge size difference the paint jobs will make up for any discrepancies in size.

Thanks Garanhir. That's very useful. They look to scale up perfectly. Truthfully the Musketeer / Footsore figures are all different sizes. The characters are large. Some of the rank and file, decidedly smaller.

Thanks for the pic.
As I'm now a big fan of the Footsore minis, it's nice to see that those Saxon Miniatures arthurians fit well with them.

Already saw those guys on Facebook.
They're absolutely stunning!

Thanks for the comparison photograph. But now I have to ask, how do the scale of saxon and footsore miniatures fit to GB in general?

I've only got the ' Viking and Anglo- Saxon 'Warlords' sets so far but they fit in great with Gripping Beast. All in all they might be a tad smaller but since most of the figures are in very dynamic poses you'll absolutely won't notice this once painted.
Style- wise they are (obviously) identical.

By the looks of things, no.
Having looked at the Saxon Miniatures website, it appears to be quite a small scale venture, with a fairly small production run of each set of figures.
No sign that Gripping Beast will be carrying these at Salute according to their website. I guess there has been a parting of ways between the Pattens over time - I don't know much about them to be honest. I suppose this new range is effectively a rival offer to the sculptor's original range for GB.

So it looks like mail order via the online shop.

Well, that fair enough..... just worried that I'll over do it at Salute.... of course, I've written out a strict list.... but how strict can I be on the day???  ??? ??? ??? :)
