Just curious, what do you use for the chip paint effect?

Dark grey paint and a sponge.

Hi guys

Prepping some more 21st PD vehicles, some Sdkfz 10/4 from wargame3D, a H39 Artillery Observers vehicle, which is a Bergman file that I updated and detailed for 1/72, and a couple of 7.5cm Pak 40 H39, can’t remember who’s they are, I also made some crew up for some of the other SPs. I’ve given them a Tamiya dark yellow rattle can undercoat, I will finish the paint job with an airbrush. Crews are a mix of Simons Soldiers, ABs, battlefield, 3D printed, and PSC and Airfix plastic, with a few head swaps thrown in here and there, I’ll be paint some of them in these pretty cool camo vests

 Hi guys

Basing vehicles for me is a necessary evil, vehicles without bases look naked to me, however I find them tedious to do, so they often get left, sometime for a very long time, so I decided to do a big basing session over the resurrection weekend, I also took the opportunity to base some of the non 21st PD vehicles I have been working on recently, I haven’t glued the vehicles down yet as I still have a fair bet of painting and weathering to do, will do the flocking once the vehicles are finished and glued in place.

I also printed out a couple of Unic P107 flak 38 vehicles, they are Bergmann prints which I have replaced the running gear, rivets, gun and other details.

They look very impressive! I don't base vehicles myself, although I do see the appeal.

How do you find AB, Simon's Soldiers, Battlefield, PSC and Airfix figures go together?

They mix OK, people are all different sizes, doesn’t worry me to much.

Yee gads, as a former artillerymen I must advise they are guns, not cannons, you’d find cannons on an 17th century sailing ship 😀

Sorry, in my native language the distinction between cannon-howitzer-mortar is based on calibre/barrel length ratio, has nothing to do with historical age :)

Well the Yanks call their gunners 'cannon cockers'. The rest of the English speaking world just calls 'em 'drop shorts'.

The Tin Tanks did produce a rather large cannon though. Not really suited for aiming at pirates or wooden warships.

Nice bit of basing btw.

 Hi guys

I’m at the stage of this 21st PD project where I want to get something finished, otherwise I risk stalling, so I will break the project down to smaller parts and finish them off one at a time, I’m starting with the 220th Pz pioneer battalion, I still have some details to paint on the figures, and some more weathering on the half tracks, then I need to finish off the bases.

There was only 1 armoured half track per company, so I need to add some unarmoured pioneer vehicles to finish the unit, but for now I will just finish painting this lot and move to the next sub unit.
