First Steps in WW2 - 15mm Soviet Strelkovy Battalion (FoW)
« on: April 19, 2015, 05:26:43 PM »
As a bit of a change from sci-fi and fantasy my gaming group and I have decided to start playing Flames Of War. I have chosen a Soviet Strelkovy Battalion as my first army. It is still a wip at the moment but here's what I have so far.

Battalion Command:

First Company First Platoon (pictured with Battalion & Company Command):

More coming soon. :D

Looks like a good start.  I think I might be using the PSC Soviet infantry when I get to my Soviet project.  You just need so may for a typical FOW Soviet army.

Great start, like the anti-tank guns.   8)

Looking good there. Another recommendation for the PSC Russians to flesh them out at low cost.

Cheers. :D
Yeah I'm liking the PSC infantry box.  Basically I bought a box of them and then bought the Battalion HQ, Anti-Tank Guns and Sapper Platoon blisters off ebay cheap.

I'm really envious of my friend who chose a British Tank Company as his first force. We've gone for 700 points to start with so he only has to paint 10 tanks.

Yeah - you picked a difficult army to start up. But at the end of the day it's always better to go with what you want to play and/or paint.

Looking good - I liek the AT guns too. And you can always go into EW Soviet tank if you only want a handful of tanks to paint.

Hey thanks, it's Vallejo Japanese Uniform WWII washed with my own homebrew flesh wash (similar to the old GW Ogryn Flesh) and then drybrushed with Vallejo German Camo Beige. The Helmets are Vallejo Russian Uniform washed with GW Athonian Camoshade. :D
