U.S. Naval landing parties used these guns, looks like three barrels at first.,but on closer look one barrel and two spring mechanisms.

Interesting. The carriage and the gun itself look like the 3" Erhardt that equipped the US Army before the introduction of the French 75 and the British 18pdr. The  problem being that the recuperator for the gun doesn't look like the standard one on the 3" Field gun. I can only presume it's a particular modification for US Navy service.

It's definitely not the Hotchkiss mountain gun or the earlier 3.2" field gun. Curious now to find the answer.

Interesting, I would like to know too. But off to work and will have to hold of looking it up at the moment.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Thanx I will keep hunting also.Another picture of one. Also one or so of the British Vickers 2.95inch pack howitzer of which the U.S, had 120 0f. Also a picture of U.S.naval personal w/ a different 3'gun in Marine Corps gear .,which drew a lot of sniper fire, much to their chagrin.I do know the gun in question is a 3' gun.
