TAG Tudor Billmen

Lovely sculpts from TAG painted in nice uniform jackets of red, white and green (good Welsh colours lol ). Ready to give those cheeky Border Reivers I painted before, a slap.

Nice paintwork Jeff.

Must say, much as I love Nick Collier's massive ECW ranges for Bicorne and Renegade, I find his stuff for TAG a little bit off somehow... Can't quite put my finger on it... Something about the anatomy always looks just a little bit wrong  :(
Shame, because I love the period and the detail he puts into the costume. It's just something about the poses I think...  :?
Weird, because this wasn't a problem I saw at all with his ECW stuff. it all looked very natural...

Thanks for the nice comments guys, Richard I've had a good look at these and the figures I've painted from this range in the past and I think it might be the position of the legs. They are quite far apart in their stance and that's fine if your bracing yourself to recieve a blow but I think normally people just don't stand like that.
Other than that I have to say I like this range, they are a pleasure to paint and have some lovely detail on them  :)

Lovely painting. I think these figures do look really nice. I agree that, on a couple of figures, the feet do look a bit far apart. I'm a bit surprised because, in my view, Nick is best at sculpting standing figures. I always think that his moving figures look a bit stooped - a problem in my view with his TAG, Bicorne and Renegade figures. Still, what do I know. I'm the man who loved Dixon ACW figures in the late 80s and early 90s and bought loads of them, even though people were telling me that the heads were too round and the folds too pronounced.

Here are some of the figures I painted from the same range some time ago now, I think maybe their sculpted off of the same dolly but with changes to the upper body.
I must say I really like this range and this " splayed leg" matter is only a slight distraction for me from what is a top notch piece of work.

Very pretty, I am awaiting the later renaissance period as I had their conquistadors and thought they were rather nice and fit well with the Eureka and Foundry offerings
