More pics of Sir Peter Jackson's Chunuk Bair diorama
« on: May 09, 2015, 12:29:46 PM »
Today I visited the massive Chunuk Bair diorama at The Great War Exhibition In Wellington for the first time since I had last seen it a week before it had opened to the public.

Having been involved with the diorama from the beginning of the project, I knew what to expect - or at least I thought I did.  But I was as flabbergasted as if it was my first time.

I've posted photos of today's visit onto the diorama's official 'Mustering The Troops' blog, which will give you an impression of what the setting of the diorama is like:

Arteis,

Many, many thanks for going out of your way and keeping us up to speed on this project.

It's great to see a real thing of beauty take it's place among the memorial/s to the veterans of the ANZAk corp.

All too often I think that we Brits are insular and do not appreciate the extent of the help that troops from all over the British  empire gave (quite often their very lives too) in both world Wars fighting against the tyranny that was never far away until the end.

Kudos to all involved.  8) 8) 8)

Darrell.
