Posting Rules for Afghanistan
« on: May 12, 2015, 04:35:24 PM »
As some of you may know, we are in the process of developing an ultra-modern version of Chain of Command for Afghanistan and Iraq.  Now I recall that there was some discussion about not posting stuff like this here; fair enough, rules are rules.  We are just at the stage where battle reports are going to be posted more regularly on our Lard Island News page, and I know some people here might be interested in them.  How would I post something here to point people in that direction without unwittingly breaking any rules?

Any advice welcomed!

Cheers

Richard

If you post pictures of the models and terrain with link to AAR and not much else that should be allowed. They are letting me post on my project as long as the post contains just pictures and no comanterry. I put links to the relevant post on my blog and have no issues.

Rich, racm32 has the right of it. The rule is that there is to be no discussion of actions, scenarios and obviously politics. As always LAF likes us some lead porn though.

You are welcome to link to Lard Island News, or pretty much anywhere... providing it doesn't promote ISIS, terrorism and the other obvious well-known legal no-nos for Germany.

So indeed pictures of a game, links to an AAR and mention of the rules themselves (as it's a commercial product) are fine.

I have stated in PMs to others that I prefer to edit rather than delete, so there is no fear of a whole thread disappearing for one slip-up.

Looking forwards to seeing them!  :)

Gentlemen, thank you all for your advice.

I'll try one in a moment and please do let me know if I have buggered it up or overstepped the line.

Cheers

Very much pleased about this.

Where may I found more info on the rules and mainly their capacity to handle vehicles (Technicals, HMMWV, but Strykers and Bradley too) ?

Is it multi base friendly ? (Considering playing in 10mm although I already have a 28mm force)

Best place for updates is http://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog

Rules for vehicles are included but as with Chain of Command, this is a platoon-level infantry game. You might have a couple of MRAPs or HMMWVs on the table, or even a Warrior or Bradley in support but that's about it.

Multi-basing shouldn't pose too many problems with a smidge of imagination but you'll need casualty markers.

The actual ground scale used in CoC is pretty much spot on for 10mm, so what you lose in having to use casualty markers, you gain in appearance of 'distance'. As Leigh says, if you can overlook the markers, it should be fine. CoC works in teams and groups in any case, so there's no formal problem otherwise.
