Greetings from Chesterfield (the UK one)
« on: May 25, 2015, 10:57:42 PM »
Hello All

Lurked for a while but have been really impressed with the helpful and insightful posts on the forum, (and general friendliness),  that joining up seemed the only decent thing to do.

I'm an Explosives Engineer by day and a (rather slow) figure painter in the evenings. Never tried combining the two for obvious reasons.....

Been around the hobby since late 80's and, like most I guess, have dabbled in many periods etc These days I tend to go for skirmish gaming (Lotr, VSF) but still dream of finishing that Napoleonic division in 28mm....

Anyway, thanks for having me

Jase

Hi Jase, welcome to the forum. I'm Stockport based myself but not a gamer....just an eclectic collector of old lead. Are you off to Partizan next Sunday over in Newark?

Cheers both,

Partizan is definately on my radar,  (probably the one show I've always tried to get to over the years because  I just like the atmosphere / rural setting / easy parking etc...) and I see that there should be both Daisho and Frostgrave being played this weekend ?

Was big into darkest Africa / Lost World stuff and used to put on the odd Participation game but have not really been very active gaming for the last few years.... have been re-enthused by IHMN recently (for probably the same reasons everyone else has !).
Also read quite a fair bit on the Great Game  / Back of Beyond so I guess I'm trying to get the most value out of the VSF figures / terrain I have (with a few "selective" additions / characters) - otherwise the Painting table will be at risk of structural failure !

Welcome to LAF Marlow.

May you have a long and merry stay with us.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Welcome Marlow.

It's a good spot in which you've landed.

Best,
