Looking for a labcoated figure (20-28mm)
« on: May 27, 2015, 04:15:01 PM »
I'm looking for a labcoated figure, preferably with a clipboard, glasses and bald head if possible but something I can rework myself as well (aka remove the hair, sculpt glasses). Since I'm not really in the 28mm loop anymore I have no idea of availabilty of such a figure.

Looking for one in 20mm as well as 28mm, so I can put myself in harms way on the table top :)

Anyone know any?

Buried somewhere around here is an old Archive Miniatures mad scientist figure that is holding up a test tube pondering its contents, bald head, glasses, and all. He does have a beard, is wearing a lab coat, and boots that suggest the old 70s vintage anti radiation boots of Three Mile Island infamy... :o

Might he fit the bill for you? I already have one painted in my collection...

Moonfleet Miniatures has some nice scientists. Unfortunately you need to get them from Black Cat Bases which is a big no no these days...
I bought mine from them at Salute some years ago :

No clipboard and small change to get hold of this figure, but : Dr. Hugo Von X from the new Incursion game.
Here's mine :

Thx gents, I wasn't aware that there was so much available  :o

They are all very nice, but the Hasslefree one with the clipboard comes closest to my daily attire....just need to clip the hair and give him glasses.

Again, thx!

The Hasslefree one is ace! Had a blast painting him:

You sure did. Great PJ. (personaly I quit doing eyes some time ago. I end up ruining the face more than actually getting a result)

If you like to do some modelling yourself there is also the Wargames Factory zombie with a long coat which is often pained as labcoat. I also used it for representen myself on the tabletop :D

I found this image of it online:

Finding  a bald head should not be a problem and even an aimpovement is these are not the best part of the miniaures, a notepad or labjournal on the other hand might take some more effort. Should you be interested, pm me and I can look to see if I have a spare lying around that I can send to you.

Btw, the hasslefree is a good one as well, I've used him for depecting a semi-living version of myself. He sort of has the vacant zombie-like look that people (me) can have when the day starts and the first coffee has not been consumed.

Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

Thx Steve, you are a godsend. There are enough doctors here to keep me going a lifetime of painting (at my current speed)
