West Winds German Heads? (small size or fine?)
« on: 30 May 2015, 02:32:38 PM »
I'm planning to cut the heads from my Void Vasa Marines and include some West Winds German Heads:

Is the size of the WW heads fine for the Vasa Marines? I'm must be sure that this heads are not bigger or smaller. Thanks.

Based on what I have (scads of the Kev White and Steve Saleh VASA stuff and the West Wind German zombie heads), I'd say the heads are a little big if you're looking for perfection.

I looked to my WW Russian and French heads with gas mask and seem pretty fine.
The german heads with face are bigger that the heads from the SOTR range?

This was going from memory... I got the heads to go on GW Catachans to become Doom zombies. I'll see if I can dig out the bits to let you judge for yourself.

The old Vasa marines are on the small size of the 28mm scale. The heads are "heroic" 28mm scale  lol Their old heads (before the SHS system )were way smaller than these and would be ideal for that swap.

Then, are the Steel helmets German heads smaller than the SOTR heads?
If they have the same size as the SOTR heads it should be fine. I've done a comparison with my SOTR heads, the french head with gas mask seem slightly smaller too.

I think they would work fine. I have used theses heads for a number of conversions,  and I have painted lots of void figures too. I am sure they would scale OK.
Theres more 28mm Superhero Madness at my blog, http://fourcoloursupers.blogspot.com/
And for Ultra-modern Wargaming check out Hotel Zugando at http://ultramoderngaming.blogspot.co.uk/

They are the same size as the SOTR heads (I've swapped a few).
