Plaster car wrecks [PICS]
« on: October 16, 2008, 11:41:01 AM »
Now in the Combat Zone Chronicles: full instructions on how to make your own car wrecks from plaster:

http://combatzonechronicles.net/cozoxb/plastrex.htm

And for your viewing pleasure, here are the pictures that didn't make it to the Chronicles:

My entire collection of 13 wrecks.

A view from the front.

Savage vs. hostage rescue police.

Cop vs. power armour, the wrecks work really well in a maze made of stacks of three 8)

Comments are appreciated of course, enjoy!  8)
Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins

Minor skin grafts can be performed on pigs by covering any cuts and grazes with thin strips of bacon.

These Car Wrecks are a fantastic wall for an improvised fortification. The last human stronghold in a world of Zeds (or Fallout-Style wasteland survivor camps) !  Wow!...must...have...some...

Indeed, you can order them here:

Copplestone has some similar models in his range too, here's a front view of the model:

Absolutely capital!

As soon as my re-animated Pulp Aegypt project has been finished (I only need to paint one mini, sand the base of 7 mummies, and paint some encounter markers, plan the layout of the hidden temple and make som floor plans for it) I'll have to turn my attention to modern/NF/ZA/PA again. Lots of potential for Fallout-like junkyards (paint the wrecks all rusty), and slagtowns...

Maybe I should see if I can find the Mad Max movies (never watched any of them.....)?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Will do! :)

Batch number one (done yesterday):

(I spilled some sand in the police car's mold, it's now embedded in the plaster. Hopefully it won't be too noticeable once primered. If it is, I'll just turn it into an old wreck and paint the sand as rust...)

Batch number two was poured this afternoon.
I'm letting them harden at least a week, before I seal them, I don't want to capture too much moisture inside...
(Especially the minivan, that one took quite a bit of plaster...)

Very nice, especially the caravan is a nice touch  8)

I dried my models on a heater, you can feel when the moisture is gone by the weight :)
