Yes they're great!

Trouble is that I want them in good old metal!

Probably going to be disappointed but there's always hope.

Cheers,

Paul

I hear you, Paul  :)

For non button counters, well it depends on how flexible you want to be, cdm. Some US light cavalry wore Tarletons in 1812' for example.

I am wondering if the tareltons are not too big for the casque de pouf of the French Revolution army.
It's nothing, sir. Just a burn from a ray gun.

Two different things : the casquette à pouf was the peaked leather cap worn by French troops in Egypt from late 1798/early1799. The metal crested helmet worn by the French infantry and chasseurs à cheval did have a smaller crest than the Tarleton though.

You might be able to convert the hot climate helmet , which I understand is also included, for that though.

Well you could use some of them for the War of Liberation in Colombia and Venezuela serving with the Bolivarian forces. Hopefully they will do some dismounted versions. There were dismounted LD with the expeditions to the River Plate.

The Victrix metal light dragoons sculpted by Paul Hicks are now sold by Brigade Games - and very nice they are too :

The regimental deal is pretty good value for money :

Out now :

Quote from: Perry Miniatures
British Light Dragoons OUT NOW!

We will be receiving the first batch of British Light Dragoons tomorrow and will be sending them out to pre-order customers tomorrow (depending on when they arrive) or Wednesday, so you should have them for the weekend (in the UK). Last Friday we received the command frames which we're showing on the site, under this code in the lists, as well a few more pictures of full units.

Napoleonic British Light Dragoons 1808-1815
28mm Hard Plastic figures designed by Alan Perry

The figures in the box cover all the regiments of the British Light Dragoons from 1808-15. The early Peninsula War uniforms (consisting of the dolman and classic Tarleton) as well as the late Peninsula War/ Waterloo campaign uniform (consisting of the ‘French style’ shako and coat) are included in the box. The bodies are split at the waist and both overalled legs and breeches/booted legs are provided for all.  These are a particularly animated set of cavalry, due to the split bodies and separate arms and heads. Heads with helmets tropical climates are also included. With a small addition of a queue (either painted or modeled) the figures in this box can be dated back to 1800.

Box Contents:  14 mounted figures in the box (12 troopers, an officer and trumpeter).
                           Full uniform guide
                           Unit bases
Code BH 90
Price £20
