That truck is awsome. I'm looking for something like that.

Yet another long hobby break - work and family stuff - but finally back in the chair and picking up the Mutha-ship and its assorted bits.

Firstly, Mutha-WIPs. Lots to do but moving quite fast.

And some of the Quad Bike cargo

And this lovely vehicle from Ramaprt Games modular terrain Kickstarter.

Finally, a Vermillion Miniatures Fallout generator.

It's not big, or clever, but let's do it anyway

Odd coincidence, I was thinking about this thread a day or two ago, wondering what was happening with the Muthaship. And here’s an update!

Very cool to see the progress, that’s going to be quite amazing. The smaller models are great, too.

Well worth the wait.  Very cool.  Loving the generator.

Welcome back.
Excellent work as always - though I did wonder why anyone would want a generator of fallout ^__^.

A couple of quick progress pics on the Muthaship. Washes and powders next.

That's fantastic! Put that on a table, and even if it doesn't move, people are going to flock to play in that game...

That does look magnificent!

The only thing I would critique is the hydraulic cylinders - the inner rod would never be painted, at least along the part that travels into the cylinder. Those rods would also never be rusted on a machine where the hydraulics are in working condition. The reason for no paint and no rust is that the seals on a hydraulic system have to be rigid and very tight, but the rod has to be able to move, even a layer of paint (and most surface corrosion, the alloys used tend to be very corrosion resistant anyway) will just be peeled off when the cylinder retracts. If the seal isn’t that tight, the cylinder will leak hydraulic fluid (which is under a lot of pressure) and the system won’t keep working (it needs to be a closed loop). I grew up around heavy equipment and no matter how filthy the rest of the machine gets, the rods on the hydraulic cylinders are always pristine when they’re extended.

I wouldn’t change the paint on the Muthaship’s hydraulics unless it’s easy to do, just mentioning it in case you wanted to take it into account on future models.

Thanks PM it’s a good point of detail. Now you’ve mentioned it I think I’ll have to fix it. Can’t unsee it! Technical expertise always welcome!
