Got to start some where.  lol
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Like the rail gun - quirky.

It's not big, or clever, but let's do it anyway

True  ;) :

T51-c WIP. Will be redoing the legs to be better and more wargame size friendly. There is no drawing for the back side of this suit that I've found, so I'm going to have to make that part up. I'll also have to adjust the torso a bit. As it's drawn I don't see how the person inside the suit could move their head or use a rifle.

Update on the Centaur:

Still lots to do, but I'm pretty happy with the progress.

That's it for now. Thanks for looking.

That's one big lady.  lol

As for the T-51c back, cant go wrong with going with what the T-51b had going on.

That's a good idea CM. I was thinking about the back of thr Protectron as well.

Heh.  I actually added the wheel to my Brother Vinni figs, using leftovers from old ships guns and such. That back would probably work well - and explain why they didn't use backpack mounts for the guns.

Now I will have to try and find some appropriately sized wheels too. Thanks.  ;)

Time to resurrect this zombie thread.

I've still not put my modeling area completely together after the move, so no new progress on the physical models.

I did dig into Fallout 4's model files though and turned this:

into this WIP:

Still lots to do, but I'm pretty excited about where this is headed. Using the game files saves a little bit of time for some things, like this Supermutant, but the majority of the files will be useful as reference only. But honestly still a ton of help, even then.

Looking to mix the details from Fallout 3 and 4 styles.

I would love to print the end result, but that's a good way off for now.

Thanks everyone for looking.

Hot shit!

Eric did you smooth out the whole thing per hand or with a Tool? And whats your opinion about Digital vs. Real sculpting? I´m lurking around a ZBrush License on my own but still not yet really assured about the whole thing.

Thanks Delta. Big compliment coming from you.  :D

Zbrush is my program of choice. I work in it on my tablet PC.

Subdividing the model smooths it out quite a bit, but there is a lot of smoothing done by hand too.

~Eric

Edit:
My opinion on analog vs digital sculpting is that they are both tools. I'm hesitant to use the term "real" since it implies digital sculpting isn't real sculpting. It very much is. Takes practice and skill just like analog sculpting. And just like analog sculpting, the results vary from artist to artist.

Some things are easier in one, some easier in the other. I like digital for many reasons, not least of which is the amount of space it takes up. Lol.

Zbrush has a learning curve for sure. But it is a powerful tool once you decipher it.

No problem Delta. Always happy to help where I can. Feel free to ask away if you have more questions. I'm far from an expert, but I'll answer what I can.

I do indeed plan to print the Supermutant. When will depend a great deal on how much it costs for me to get the quality I want. It's going to be awhile before I buy my own printer.
