Start of my pirates crew
« on: June 20, 2015, 07:06:30 PM »
First part of my pirate crew for a game which we plan to play in our wargaming club.

And a question about wargame rules
Can anyone suggest good, not overly complicated rule set for small ship-to-ship skirmishes in 28mm for a golden age of piracy, preferably centered on the small ships like gunboats, sloops, and such.

Legends of the high seas is a very simple set of very playable rules.

Yep, seconded.

Great start on your crew. :)

Legends of the High Seas could definitely cover this.

If you're looking for something different, I've heard positive things about, but haven't played, Flashing Steel and also Gloire: Swashbuckling Adventure in the Age of Kings.  The former is by Ganesha Games, so I would hazard to guess that's it's the "Song of..." system adapted to swashbuckling adventures. Don't know much about the latter.

Thanks to all for comments and suggestions!  :)
I have Gloire rulebook already and the rules are nice but not really suitable for more than 5-10 minis per side. Gloire have a very overcomplicated system of wounds to use with big crews.
I`ve heard a lot of good things about Legends of the High Seas but it seems that no one is selling digital version of the rules. :(
