Hiya, just got back from a weeklong trip to Brussels to see both of the reenactment fights at Waterloo. I've got about 1000 photos to go through still, but on the flight back I did have time to go through some of the parade photos before I ran out of juice on the laptop!

I'd love to see what everyone else has got as well! With all the smoke on the battlefield and rather large stand area it was quite hard to see anything going on around the rest of the battlefield. So feel free to post yours in here too :)

Anyways here are some of the parade photos. I'll try to go through all the battle photos tomorrow and get them here as well!

Excellent pictures so far.

Have a Belgian mate who was there too - he was VERY impressed.

Thanks guys!

gringo: Can't wait to see yours pictures. Will be nice to see what the show looked like from another location.

It was definately a great show! Though I must say in my opinion the second day was far better than the first. The first one seemed a bit haphazard with especially the english commentary being random to say the least :) But with practice the second one was great.

Here are some pictures from the first reenactment. Second one will come up soon. The whole batch is again on my blog as there's just too much to put into this post :D http://engineered-gaming.blogspot.fi/2015/06/waterloo-2015-day-1-french-attack.html

What really struck me was the amount of smoke on the battlefield and how bad the visibility really was. Even with "only" 6000 reenactors firing it was usually impossible to tell what units were where from the 200-300 meters distance that we viewed the action. Considering that in the real deal there was a lot more firing going on and the distances were much greater, it's small wonder the commanders ever had any idea of how the battle was going.

Sorry about slightly shade pictures. It's a bit tricky to take photos of moving targets 300 meters away when you can't put a tripod down anywhere :)

A very impressive display to say the least  8)

The only slight issue I have is that the uniforms are so clean  lol (I understand why though).

Wow, lovely shots, the latter ones taken in the thick of things are very impressive.

Amazing pictures! Definately puts my ones to shame :O Would love to see more of those.

Anyways here are my shots from the second day. It was a much better show in my opinion with the movements much better coordinated and seemed more like a proper battle. A warmer weather also helped as did the slackening winds. However probably about a third of the crowd won't feel the same way as the wind blew all the smoke from Allied artillery and muskets into their stands blocking sight for most of the battle.
