Making this thread has provided me with the motivation to finish off the last few teams I have unpainted.  This time, Dwarves:

Dwarf Blockers by adeselrec, on Flickr

It was quite challenging to make all of the Blocker's beards a different colour :)

I also made a couple of Skaven mutants from the bits left over after making a team, claws made with instamold impressions taken from various minis - I love that stuff.

Finally, I made a little headway with the queue of Big Guys I have to paint - a converted Reaper Bones troll, with some added greenstuff  pads, etc.

Next up - Choas Dwarves!

That dwarf team was a nice sculpt and your team looks sweet.  I regret selling mine years ago but it pleases me to see your figs.  I think I liked the runners the best.  I really thought their faces took detail well.

The skaven conversions are good and that orc troll is awesome.

Thanks guys :)

The dwarf team was a joy to paint - as you say, they are very detailed and characterful models.  I'd out off painting them for a year (or two?) after I bought them cheap off ebay - they were caked in paint, and they looked really unappealing - amazing what a quick soak and strip will reveal.

Managed to paint another Bones conversion last night, this time an Ogre for my Human team - a quick weapon snip, some added greenstuff pads and boots, and he's ready to made his debut.

The ogre rocks.  He scales nicely against his team mate and looks wonderful.  I enjoyed painting all of the models on the dwarf team excepting the blitzers.  I did like their masks but there was only enough face showing through that I had difficulty getting at it  and enough visible that the mess I'd made was readily apparent.  If I still had the models to go at again my painting has improved so I don't think I would cawk it up so badly.

Loving the simple but effective conversion.
Now the question is, where did that discarded snipped weapon go? ;-)

Awesome teams, great paint job on all of them and not forgetting nice conversions!  :-* I just have two Streetbowl teams ready, should start on the proper BB Wood Elf team again, it's too long overdue *sigh*

Not sure where the snipped weapon went,  but looking at the Ogre's expression, he's not too thrilled about its current location  ;)

I reckon painting (and finishing!) BB teams can be an intimidating prospect, mainly because it's a boring prospect, and something of a commitment to paint 12-16 models all in the same livery (and many figs with the same sculpt, if you're using GW stuff).

I've found that the key to getting BB models done, more than any other type of mini, is to do them in batches of 4-5, and try not to sweat too much about pixel perfect paint jobs.  Plus, the more figs you paint from a specific team, the better they tend to look together.  I always find if I paint a single test figure, I'm never sure about the colour scheme, and tend not to follow up on the rest of the team.  I had a couple of teams with a single test mini, with the rest in bare metal for a couple of years.  Now, once I decide on a scheme (after a bit of careful thought/research), I just dive in and start splashing some paint on a few minis, simultaneously.

I'm about halfway through the Chaos Dwarves, hoping to have them done by the weekend.

I finally found some time to base the Chaos Dwarf team I painted a couple of weeks back.  I thought that such crazy over the top models needed a suitably bonkers paintjob, so I went for a lime green and zebra stripes combo. As you do. I also created a logo for the team :)

Apologies, photos aren't the best - there is some shading but it's hard to pick out with lighting I had available.

The added 'H' in Zebras is a little more 'Dwarven' ;)

Zentaur on the left is a WHFB mini with a weapon snip and added knuckledusters.

I went for olive skinned Hobos, to avoid clashing with the green of their uniforms.

Cheers!

These are excellent!  Bloodbowl was always a favourite and it's great to see such well painted figures.

With the rerelease of Blood Bowl, i thought I'd best get my finger out and finsih off the lst few models I have to paint to finish off th teams that I already own.

First up is a Minotaur for the Chaos Dwarf team (pictured above) - I think it's an old WHFB one, I snipped his hand and weapon, and made a new one holding a spike from some greenstuff.

Next is a Beast of Nurgle I bought on ebay a couple of years ago, i think it was made for the NAF or similar organisation.  Lots of pinning and greenstuff involved, but I like the way it turned out.

They both look a bit better in the flesh, I don't have the best lightning for pics at the moment :)

Next up is a Deathroller and a Saurus.
