28mm Bolt Action Stalingrad Soviets

These were inspired by Paullinus, but I did not achieve his level of mastery.  I still need to add metallic chips to the weapons (which I know is not accurate but works in miniature - see SP's "City Fight Russians" thread.)



The good news is, that by using speed painting techniques, I did 10 of these in two days.

Good stuff they look suitably Stalingrad to me. Can I ask how you did the bottle I have tried grey and green but not happy with the results never thought of blue?

I actually 'borrowed' the idea for blue from here:



I used Vallejo model color "Dark Blue" and added the highlights using the same color with a little white added. I tried to add spots of highlights at the top of the bottle and where the bottle slopes.

After dull coating, I went back and painted the bottle with Vallejo Gloss varnish to help emphasize the 'glass look."
