Harmony gets a traffic problem.

Entry for a Guild competition, and repurposing a child's playset....

Quote
As the colony grew in size and importance, the trappings of civilisation also began to appear. One of the early improvements in Harmony CIty was a properly constructed road network.

the city soon grew around and along the roads.

With roads come traffic cops!

And Yellow Cabs....

That will be my cab!

The roads are modular and come from some cheap childrens playsets, found in a local newsagent. Three sets cost me $30 in total & the kids got the cars etc from them. I can put together an 8 foot long 2 lane road, or streets as seen here. I'll be picking up some more.

Cars are from a variety of sources, including Khurasan, Combat Wombat and Old Crow. There are  a lot more to follow, but currently stalled in the painting queue.

The bare bones, save for a few small segments.

A more detailed look at the modular roadway.

Superb looking colony you've got there.

I've seen those road systems (or similar) here in the UK but never considered using them - do you think they'd work as elevated roadways given suitable pillars to support them?

Yes it should be easy enough. The set does actually come with ramps and support columns but the latter are a little too toylike even when painted IMHO.

Reminds me of the sets that Jon T. uses for his Hammer's Slammers game.
Looking good.

any idea what the set is? I stumbled across this once in a thrift store only thing priced like 40 bucks. Regretted it immediately had some weird buildings. Have tried randomly to find them since. So any brand name or anything would help lots if you have it

Very nice  :)

But the important question is... can tanks go on it?  :D
