So, I promised myself no more elves. I don't even like Elves all that much AND I've still got a bunch of Chaos Champions left to paint. But then I went rummaging around in the attic, and I found this guy. An original Scarloc. He was cleaned up and primed, just like I left him... oo... 21 years ago  lol

I felt struck by inspiration, and painted him immediately! Super quick paint job (for me) - mean and moody, like an Elf Ranger should be.

Obligatory rear view (phwoar! Look at that quiver!)

Nice colour palette, I like that old model. I really should repaint mine!

Great job on the gems and the quiver. I've got to get on my grey mountain as well.

A slightly different sort of update for the thread. Aaaaaages ago I posted some pics of my Mantic and Zealot dungeon furniture. Well, I've finally got some painted. Hoorah!

There's not a huge amount of scope for furniture in WHQ, beyond 3D objective markers. But I plan on using it both for photo backdrops, and for some openworld dungeon skirmish such as the Elder Scrolls, and the forthcoming Lasting Tales game. http://kck.st/3cynzfJ

First up: Cupboards and bookcases. Exciting huh!? These are from Mantic's terrain crate.

Ubiquitous treasure chests. I have a few more than this, but it gets a bit samey...  lol  These are a mix of Zealot Miniatures, Mantic, and CMON from the Zombicide Black Plague upgrade set. the Zealot ones are the most expensive, but are by far the best in detail and casting. The big pile of chests in the second photo is from Mantic - makes a great objective marker.

If you've got treasure chests, stands to reason you'd have a treasure chest Mimic... (Zealot minis)

And big piles of loose treasure for the Dragon to guard (Mantic):

Some debris and barricades (Mantic):

A fancy throne fit for a Liche King (Zealot), and a table from Mantic:

And finally, not the best photo in the world, but I've been playing around with scenic shots.

Two updates in swift succession. I must be ailing for something...  o_o

Managed to finish off the third of my classic Chaos Champions. This time, a faceless champion of Tzeentch. Really quick and fun model to paint - I made good use of inks and glazes made from GW contrast paints to get the colour tint on the armour, and washes of that weird Nihilakh Oxide technical paint on the mask and mace.

And from the back:

What a creepy dude. The glazes on the metal skirt add a really nice touch.

After a long hiatus from painting due to house renovations (which I consider just scenery-building on a larger scale), I finally got some more bits and pieces of furniture and such painted. Alternate colour scheme for the original doors, plus a bunch of Mantic and Zealot scenery.

The orrery (probably spelling that wrong...). On close inspection, the sculptor has clearly designed the big 'planet' in the middle as a Death Star, so I painted it up as such. The planets are Tatooine and Alderaan (plus Alderaan's moon). It amused me anyway  lol

And every good adventure starts with a staircase...

Man...I love this thread.

Always feel slightly guilty when I resurrect it, but it's a lifelong project... I don't think it'll ever truly be finished  lol

Continuing to deliver the good stuff :)

I really have come to enjoy scatter terrain and extra details on the periphery, excellent job on yours.
