+1 likes on that Griffon. I think the lion + golden eagle combo is good. Keeps it simple. I do like griffons myself, I've ended up owning a few. Something great about wings on a lion with an eagle head.

Agreed on the gryphon. Going to have to keep that colour scheme in mind if I manage to get my hands on one.

I managed to squeeze in one last model before the end of the year, and it's the big fella I've been talking about for ages: the Warhammer Giant!

This model has been on my painting desk, assembled and undercoated, for about 15 years. It's even moved house with me! And finally, after starting and stopping several times over many months, he's done: ready to hit barbarians with clubs, throw Elves across the room, and stuff halflings down his trousers...

Face closeup:

Couldn't resist a couple of childish visual gags. The halflings in his knapsack are painted in the colours of Merry, Pippin and Frodo. Meanwhile, his loincloth is made from a flag of the Moot (yes, it's the Fighting Cock...)

Happy New Year to all!

Fantasticly painted model.
I really love the little touch on the *cough* rooster. lol
Just the kind of detail my juvenile mind can appreciate.

Love the freehand and the allusion to the Hobbits. Really like the skintone, too.

Threadomancy again - the project lives!  ;D

I've been tinkering away on a couple of character models lately. First one to get finished is a new hero: the Ex-Blood Bowl Player!

I saw the new (ish) Imperial Nobility team, and just had to have this one particular model. The idea is that Fitz is a huge bear of a man from Middenland (and therefore the ridiculous scale creep of newer GW figures doesn't really matter), and he's a celebrated hero in his village due to his glory days in the Blood Bowl league. When the call to adventure comes, he dons his old kit - now far too small for him, as he's grown fat on the accolades of the villagers - and set out to protect the village from the denizens of the deep.

And the rearview (dat ass tho...)

Two models in one week? INCONCEIVABLE!

A baddie this time - a Chaos Lord of Nurgle from a recent Knightmare Miniatures Kickstarter. Really tall fella, so he's going to tower over his underlings.
