Simple Tall Grass
« on: October 23, 2008, 02:17:42 AM »
So, I just posted a little blurb on the tall grass I made for my 28mm gaming. It's made from a fish tank product called breeder grass. Have a look over at my blog "I See Lead People" (http://leadpeople.blogspot.com/2008/10/in-tall-tall-grass.html) and let me know what you think.

Thanks,
-Eli

Now that's tall.

(Reminds me of the joke about the African "Wherethehellarewe" tribe  ;) )

Thanks folks. I wanted to make the sort of grass that raptors and tigers can stalk you through without a clue until you are munchies.

My jungle needs your grass!

 :)

My local shops don't have any but I will be going to the states very soon for a quick trip, hopefully I will be able to get it there.

You may want to check online with the various pet supply e-tailers. While in the states, I can suggest checking out PetSmart if they have them in the area you'll be in.

Your swordgrass looks really good. The height is right for swordgrass that I have had the misfortune to survey through here on Guam. That stuff will cut you to shreds. You have to wear long sleeves and long heavy pants even though the humidity is near 90% and the heat is well into the 90s.  Did I mention that it effectively blocks any breeze too?  Yeah it is just a bloody joy - nasty stuff to run away from your enemies as well.  You might want to have special rules about being knocked prone, tripped, etc.  Plus after moving through it your trail will be very apparent for a day or two.

Hey, marianas_gamer, that's a good idea. Making the table more hazardous can always add an edge to your games :).

What glue did you use to stick them down?

Very effective. 8)

Nice - I use something called 'Plant Picks' from Pfeil and Holing cake deco for shorter grass - very similar!

Oh, yes - my palm trees on that pic are from them, too - very cheap, very useful!
