Frostgrave minis suggestion
« on: July 11, 2015, 07:47:39 AM »
Don't know a lot about the rules I must admit, but while looking for something else I saw these and thought they would be cool... lol

Ral partha demon wold 15mm scale but the bases they are on a pretty big (e.g. like 50mm across) so that makes these figures pretty large.
Here's a shot which may help for scale. http://arhnayel.pagesperso-orange.fr/rapports/isthak-orcs1ours-atazzar-et-drc.jpg

They are "Dai Re'Coon" £16 for 8 figures so £2 a pop, pretty darn cheap in this day.

I also have this as an idea:
A Mcfarlane toy "Jack frost" and it's huge, about 10" tall.

So anyone else got any suggestions?

In anticipation of the rules I painted a group of Grenadier Dwarves. I've since become mildly obsessed with Grenadier and I'm also putting together a Witch warbands using Grenadier barbarians as soldiery. The old school style of the models are perfect for the setting and they are cheap (in the UK at least!)

For wandering monsters I've been picking Reaper Bones stuff up.

I'm currently rebasing some D&D plastic wolves and bears for monsters, for the warbands I plan to mix ral partha, metal magic (i'm also hooked to classic miniatures) and official figures.

I will probably buy the plastic box for the henchmen, and all heroes and sorcerers will be from classic ranges.

Hi Sir Theo - where do you get them from in the UK, 'cos I too like the Grenadier dwarfs.

Be mindful of the prayers you send
Pray hard but pray with care
For the tears that you are crying now
Are just your answered prayers

Forlorn Hope seem the best bet.

Em4 and miniature heroes also have some Grenadier suff.

Finally, instead of the official plastic box, I just bought about 20 (or 25? can't remember) Metal Magic figures (mostly warriors/henchmen) to use as soldiers in Frostgrave.  ;D

Will be the perfect addition to my ral partha 'specialists" and wizards. Old school metal warbands  8)
