Dude, that is brilliant! I love it! A very Norse character. Is that metal paint on the anvil/tool? It looks extremely good. I love the apron as well! Just a brilliant model all around!

I painted a Landsknecht last night and his eyeballs came out exactly like the blacksmith's!

Of course, it was a total accident when I did it.  :D

I really like that red hair. He looks good.

what colours did you use for the hair/beard?
"I'd like to send this letter to the Prussian consulate in Siam by aeromail. Am I too late for the 4:30 autogyro?"
"Uh, I better look in the manual... This book must be out of date. I don't see "Prussia", "Siam" or "autogyro"...

I am so torn between metals an non metal paints. Clearly the metals look damn good, as illustrated with this fig. Also the shining metals look really good in metal as well.

The NMM look good too though, and they illustrate the skill of the painter. I am not really sure if I should start with NMM...  or just stick with the metallics. Any thoughts on this?

i'm not mad about NMM though i'm trying to paint it from time to time. But that's look too cold and artifical. You need some skills too if you're going to paint good true-metal. Afriend of mine known as Dr.Heza painted this one and i think that's just awesome example of true-metal and much better then any NMMs. Of course certain sorts of minis like some Confro or Elves etc. "require" NMM

I really dislike NMM and I thinks it's a highly over-rated skill. It never looks good enough to be worth all the effort!

That beastman proves it! There is no way NMM could look that good!

Thanks for the advice on the NMM action. That true metal looks great on that beastman for sure. I think I will stick to metals then overall...

Thanks

I came in a little late on this subject, but I agree on disliking NMM.

Sure, it looks great when an artist has done it, and when seen from the right direction, but for a 3D gaming piece, it doesn't work for me.

NMM should be reserved for 2D paintings, that's how I see it.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
