RT Crusader Robot
« on: July 15, 2015, 01:28:01 PM »
Some time ago I got this Crusader Robot, about time to do something with it!!

As you can see, it lacked the upper weapon, so I had to delve into my bits box. I was looking for a GW weapon, but somehow this other one appeared and... well, I had to do it, you know how this works.

I have no plans for it (yet). Though I must confess that some of the new Mechanicus stuff looks appealing to me, I'm not going to start a new army (yet ). Anyway, red looked like a nice colour choice for this baby.

You can also find it here :):

I may repaint the insectoid compound eyes to see if I can achieve a better effect. The hexagons are nice as a concept, but I still haven't been able to perform a decent result.

An absolutely lovely figure  :-* ; I have one stashed away too, as part of an entire Maniple.

I was planning on using them as a squad of Terminators, and adjusted their weaponry accordingly. Maybe yours can double as a Terminator with Assault Cannon?

Absolutely SO not the way I remember it!

It's actually pretty cool!

Had no idea. No, really.

Oh, of course, great work.  ;)

Great! I like the colour scheme very much - touches like the white stripe, number and hexagonal eye patterns really add a lot of character to it. Great job!

Thank you! I believe the insectoid aspect adds a lot of charm, makes it quite distinctive. The only thing I fear is that this may become the beginning of a whole project! Brrr, shiver through the spine... :D

Nice work Suber, it looks great.  The Crusader is the most iconic of those old RT robots I think, I would love to get my hands on one.

Forgeworld Vorax Battle Automata are the updated version of the crusader and they're beautiful models.  Bit pricey at £50 for 3 figures though.

Forgeworld Vorax Battle Automata

The Vorax is nice too, but I get an additional bit of a nostalgia kick from the Crusader.  I only want a single copy of each design anyway, so I hope to track down a Crusader one day.

You KNOW you only bring this on yourself! You did beautiful work. You shared it. And, we shall be unmerciful in our asking for 'more more more!'  ;)

Okay, the Vorax IS handsome. But, *ouch*!

Forgot to add - lovely job on the Crusader!

You know the old-style AdMech stuff is really characterful... and that little guy looks so lonely...
