Looking for figures for The Templers
« on: July 08, 2015, 04:35:51 PM »
I am planning to do a company of Templers for IHMN, I have some Ironclad British Navy Landing Party figures which should do nicely for the knights and sergeants but I want a Chaplain with a mail shirt. pistol and sword also a Grandmaster with two-handed sword and plate armour but haven't found any suitable figures, has anyone got any suggestions?

Foundry makes a set of dismounted cuirassier for WSS. The commander would make a nice Templar Grand Master with a quick sword swap. The rest of his costume could easily stand for the ceremonial clothing of a Templar.

North Star recently made these chaps for the 'Frostgrave' game, I think they would suit your needs very well:

Have spotted the Frostgrave figures, I think the guy with the (separate) shield will do great the other figure may do as a cleric with a bit of work.
Nearly bought them this weekend but am still considering how to convert the guy with the helmet, may change his head and alter his sword but not decided yet

I picked up four figures designed specifically for this requirement at the Devizes show. All are in 'crusader' style in mail and/or plate armour with swords pistols (either in hands or holstered) and with ammunition pouches. The three knights have classic helmets and the chaplain is bare headed with a bible. Unfortunately I didn't note the trader's name  :(

I'll be using Ironclad figures with rifles for support.

I'll post a picture when I finish them.

I was at Devizes, I must have missed those figures, can you remember which trader or where they where in the school.

In the hall with the game on the stage, adjoining the room with the coffee shop. The trader with the resin mammoths.

Got it 'Heroes of the Dark Age'

http://www.heroesofthedarkage.co.uk/

I must have walked past that table half a dozen times but failed to look at their wares.

I will have to get some of those figures when they restock as they have sold out now :-[

Thanks Bullshott, I can stop looking now.

I'm also using Ironclad figures for the rank and file.

Well spotted. He had the three shown on the website, plus another with a 2-handed sword. I [picked up all of them. He showed me another 2 figures that will need to be re-moulded following problems casting their weapons (I'm kicking myself for not asking for a couple of his rejects anyway, as I could have easily repaired the damage).

One of the players at the Wargames Illustrated IHMN day was using the Templars. They looked like Warhammer 40000 figures. Including the curate and leader.
