Interesting figures Janner - were these in one of the appendices to Nafziger's "Napoleon's Invasion of Russia"? It is on my bookshelf and I had a quick thumb through but, as with most of his books, there are quite a few interesting appendices in there.
That is probably the strength of Nafziger to my mind and he reminds me of Oman in that regard, although I think Nafziger would have had a much harder job in unearthing his sources. He is not infallible as you say, but I still think it is one of the most generous acts I have ever seen when he posted most of his OOBs online so they can be downloaded free of charge.
