Ehm. Still working on the name
.
A friend of mine gave me away the Doomrider mini, that one from the late 90's. Not exactly the best sculpt ever (ahem
), but there is some raw material to work with.
I've seen some cool conversions over the internet, but all of them look
too much for my taste. I thought that, if this was going to be a tribute to Ghost Rider.. well, let it be simply Ghost Rider in power armour.
First of all, let's remove the ugly head and replace it with something else:
This is most probably the only documented case in all GW history in which they were legitimised to use a skull and they took a different way.
Ahem. Flames, I had to add flames:
Ork bike riders provided me the chain to replace the sword:
To the brushes! I consciously avoided flashy colours, I tried to keep the Ghost Rider palette with black and metal (adding other colours only as the mini itself requires, i.e., brass for the bike and glowing blue for the souls of the damned, blah blah).
It still looks a little bit overdone to my eye, I should have removed more spikes, left a simpler bike and maybe sculpt some flames for the wheels. Hm, that's the kind of stuff you notice when the model is already finished...
Anyway, you can also find it here:
