Pulp Alley: All That Glitters
« on: April 25, 2017, 04:15:25 AM »

Word has gotten out about the old prospector's map. Now both The Cobra's Kiss League and The Al-Hazred Shriners have caught the gold bug. Come up to the high country and find out that at least some of what glitters is GOLD!

Great report, Whom, and thanks for a very fun afternoon, too.  I am already looking forward to a rematch between the Cobra's Kiss and the al-Hazred Shrine, perhaps in the lost Valley of Gwangi.

That was a great report.  My playing group recently played High Sierra Manhunt and had a real blast with it so we'll definitely be trying All that Glitters as well.

Thanks for all the kind comments everybody.
As far as repeating it goes, I think the Raid Scenario would be unbalanced with more than two players. I think Rags had some idea how to play it if the third member of our group had shown up, but it was relatively satisfying having the crap beaten out of me by only one league.

Oh, pooh -- I had only two characters left, and barely escaped with two plot points...not exactly dominating when your opponent can't pick any up.  The score was 4-3, but only because the one gold marker Vanda got increased the value of the claim deed from 1 to 3 victory points.
If we had played with three, I had options in mind for both two attackers vs one defender and just going with three attackers.  Both involved putting another gold marker on the table, and the 2 on 1 would have meant increasing the difficulty a bit for the attackers by including one or two Red Herring cards to represent Fool's Gold.
If played with four, you could either team up, or just eliminate the defender and have a free for all.  But I would definitely put down a couple of more gold markers, since you need one to make the deed worth its full value.

Hi,
Ideally if we do All that Glitters we'll do it as a two player game (or two separate two player games) but the suggestions for three or four players by Rags are very useful.
All the best,
George.

Great report - this is turning into a neat little story, will there be a part 3?

Thanks, glad you're enjoying it, too.  Part 3 will ensue when I have decided what old movie to plunder next...there are several under consideration.
