VSF Flyers, War Wagons and a walker(pic heavy), New Flyer
« on: July 23, 2015, 05:20:18 PM »
Her Majesties Aerial Dragoons! Cavorite(known as Upsy Daisium to the troops) provides the lift, clockwork provides the propulsion. These figs are from Eureka part of the Pax Limpopo line. I had these half done for years. When I first got them their large size, 32mm, put me off. Thanks to scale creep they are compatible with current ranges. When I saw EZ8's painted flyers it gave me the push to finish them.

Steam Wagons of War! These are converted and repainted chuck wagon toys from the movie Atlantis. I finished the first of these awhile ago, finally found the other two and had time to paint them. The figs are 25mm RAFM and Dixon. The gatlings are from Dead Lands Rail Wars on scratch built mounts.

My first attempt at "razzle dazzle" cammo. When I posted this walker before it was the object of some mirth so I figured it made a good subject to experiment, paint wise, on. The figs are 25mmm from Old Glory.

Bateson's Autoambulatory Incendiary Engine. An automaton with military applications. This was a tiny red plastic toy found in a thrift store's bin. I have no idea who manufactured it. I gave it a steampunk paint job. The fig next to it is a Parroom Station 25/28.

I don't recall mirth; more like pain at getting any paint to stick, old boy.

If that's the result of experimentation, play on!  ;D

Hearty yes to the rest; bit disappointing, I can't place mister fire robot...  :?

West Wind's Mechanabat. I call him Die Fledermaus after the character in The Tick Comics. I was going for a Batman blue grey and blue black colour scheme with yellow brown accessories. Fun fig to paint. I'm grateful that in came in only 2 pieces, the mini and the wings with smokestack.
