IHMN tracking how moved etc.
« on: July 28, 2015, 01:15:56 AM »
A question for the experts of playing IHMN, as I have yet to play a game, but I was hoping to do one soon...

I ask as I'm more used to skirmish games where a models moves and then fights then another does etc.
But IHMN has an everyone move figs and they they all shoot/fight in sequence. So do you mark models that moved and by how much so that you get all the movement modifiers for shooting right ?

If so what kind of markers do you use - one for running, one for moving more than 3" and one for having moved at all ?

I can see not marking working for a couple of figs but more than that and it's easy to get this stuff mixed up in games. So how do others handle this.

Hi Mellis  :)

Some people do like to play with counters for just such a purpose. Our friend Mark did a huge set of counters that you can download for free from the IHMN blog - https://inhermajestysname.wordpress.com/additional-material/.

For those who like a more professional set, or who don't like cutting things out, we are currently looking at having one produced.

We use Half Move, Full Move, Run and Activated (for those minis that don't move) tokens in different colours during the movement phase (from Warbases who do custom acrylic tokens). We then flip them over to the blank side during the shooting phase so we know who has shot.

You can see some of them in this pic...

Ah ok thanks I was just wondering how it was done. Looks like I should get some tokens or something.

If you don't like multi coloured tokens, or are too tight to buy some, pick up some cheap buttons. Two tone (different colour each side) are good. We use buff/brown, for moved/run, shooting we don't seem to need any, nor fighting. An extra bonus with the drab buttons, they blend into the tabletop better, if big slabs of orange/blue are not your thing of course.
